OK. After attempting to play some Call of Duty earlier and running into server troubles, it’s time to give this another go.

Activision launched a beta test for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare today. The publisher is giving anyone who preordered the sci-fi military shooter on PlayStation 4 access to an early technical test that will run through October 17. Xbox One owners will get a chance starting October 21 when the second half of the beta begins.

But let’s not wait. I’ve put in a few matches, and the servers still seem like they’re having issues. The game never fills up the lobbies to the full 12-player capacity, and I ended up in a few 2-on-3 or 1-on-3 situations. That was a bummer — although my rusty skills were far more depressing.
