The Electronic Entertainment Expo is just around the corner, and you can expect one of gaming’s biggest publishers to have a lot to show.
Electronic Arts has floor space and a press briefing on June 15, one day before the Los Angeles event starts. We have a pretty good idea of what EA has in store for us, but you can usually count on a surprise or two.

The sure thing
These were already announced, so they should be at E3.
- Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst. The kind-sorta sequel to the 2008 first-person parkour game just got a new name and teaser site. It’ll definitely be a big part of EA’s E3 presence.
- Star Wars: Battlefront. This multiplayer shooter is coming out this November, just a month before the new movie. People love Star Wars, and people love shooters. This is a huge game for EA.
- Need for Speed. The next installment in EA’s racing series is supposed to come out this year, so expect to see plenty of it at the show.
- Sports. EA has a lot of annual sports franchises, so you can always count on them. They include Madden NFL, FIFA, NHL, and PGA Tour.
The maybe
We won’t act too surprised if we see these games.
- Mass Effect. We know that BioWare is working on a new Mass Effect, but we haven’t heard too much about it. We might finally get a proper unveiling at E3.
- Battlefield 5. The Battlefield series has become one of EA’s biggest. However, with Star Wars: Battlefront looming, we might have to wait a bit longer to see Battlefield 5.
- Plants vs. Zombies. A sequel to the competitive shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is in development. We might see more at E3.
And the “yeah, right!”
Stuff that probably won’t happen but wouldn’t it be cool!
- Knights of the Old Republic 3. EA owns BioWare and the rights to make Star Wars games. So, many are hoping for a new Knights of the Old Republic. However, BioWare is currently busy with Mass Effect, and EA is likely focusing on promoting Battlefront at this show. KOTOR 3 might come one day, but don’t expect to see it at E3.
- Skate 4. The Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise is seeing a revival. Maybe EA will do the same for its skating franchise. However, this is no more than wishful thinking.
