Wargaming’s first console game launch was a huge success.
This week marks the one-year anniversary of the launch of World of Tanks on Xbox 360. Wargaming’s popular PC tank-battling MMO has over 100 million players worldwide, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. The franchise continues rapid expansion with the addition of spin-offs World of Warplanes and World of Warships. A large part of the expansion plans of the Nicosia, Cyprus-based company last year was a proper console version. It chose Microsoft’s Xbox 360 to start their console efforts mainly for its large registered user base — 70 million at this time last year.
