Update: Microsoft says it has fixed the problem.
Microsoft knows that something is wrong with its online network, and it’s working on it.

This is preventing people with the older system from logging into their accounts. Without access to Xbox Live, many games are unplayable. This includes the online multiplayer in games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare or even primarily single-player adventures that require a connection to a server to run.
Here’s what Microsoft has to say on its status website:
“Having difficulty signing in to Xbox Live? We’re aware and working to correct this right away! Thanks for your patience while we work. We’ll fill you in as soon as we know more.”
Many people have taken to social networks like Twitter to note that they don’t have access to Xbox Live.
While this is affecting Xbox 360, Microsoft has not said anything about any problems with Xbox One. We ran some tests, and Xbox Live was running fine for us on the Xbox One. So this problem may just affect to the older hardware.
We’ll update this story with any new information and when the network is back up and running.
