As Microsoft prepares to launch its next-gen Xbox One console, the manufacturer is making some branding changes to another one of its products.

The Xbox Live Marketplace is now the Xbox Games Store (as first spotted by Joystiq). If you attempt to navigate to the Marketplace’s webpage, the rebranded Games Store will load in its place.

A Microsoft spokesperson provided Joystiq with the following statement:

“That’s right, [Xbox Live Marketplace] is now called the Xbox Games Store, and will sit alongside the Xbox Music Store and Xbox Video Store. This is to make it easier for consumers to find content both on Xbox 360 today and Xbox One when it launches in November.”

Microsoft has now uses the term store across nearly all of its products. It has its Windows Phone Store for mobile apps, the Xbox Music/Video/Games Store, and its Microsoft Store retail locations.

This is the most recent change in Microsoft’s road to Xbox One’s launch. In the last system update for Xbox 360, it shifted from its proprietary Microsoft Points for purchases to real local currency. This ensures Xbox One will launch with everything branded just as the company intends.
