Fallout 4 couldn't outsell Call of Duty on consoles.

LOS ANGELES — Microsoft just did what no one ever thought a console make would ever do: Mods are coming to Xbox One.

Publisher Bethesda’s Fallout director Todd Howard came on the stage during Microsoft’s Electronic Entertainment Expo event this morning to announce that PC mods will work on the Xbox One version of the game. This is the first time that mods will work on console for such a high-profile game.

This is a huge win for the Xbox One. Mods — especially for Bethesda games — are a huge reason that people choose the PC platform over consoles. But now, with this feature built into the Xbox One, gamers will have one more reason to choose to get the game on Microsoft’s system.
