Sony’s PlayStation Network went down for multiple days during the holidays, and the company is trying to win your forgiveness by giving you the opportunity to spend money on its digital store.

The publisher revealed today that it will give a one-time 10-percent discount to anyone who makes a purchase from the PlayStation Store from 9 a.m. Pacific on Friday through 9 a.m. Pacific on Monday. So you’ll only get the discount — a big part of Sony’s apology — if you are ready to spend money this weekend, but the code works for everything in your cart as well as with preorders for unreleased games.

In a post on Sony’s PlayStation blog, Sony Entertainment Network vice president Eric Lempel does mention a few things that will not work with the discount.

“Some exclusions do apply,” he wrote. “Including subscriptions for PS Plus, Music Unlimited, PS Now, and rental-video content. The code must be redeemed at checkout and discounted transaction completed before [Monday] at 9 a.m.”

So, while you can’t renew all your Sony subscriptions with the discount, you can save around $6 on any full-price game.

This one-time deal makes sense from a logistical standpoint for Sony since giving a unique code to every registered PlayStation Network member could prove difficult. But it also creates the potential for people who have busy weekends or who don’t have the money to make a purchase right now to miss out on part of Sony’s atonement.

PSN went down on Christmas Day and did not return returning to functioning normally for almost a week. Sony later confirmed that a cyberattack was the source of the trouble. The outage prevented people from playing online multiplayer releases as well as primarily single-player experiences that required gamers to sign in.

While Sony is giving the discount code to everyone, it is also giving five free days of its premium PlayStation Plus service to people who were already subscribed to the program during the downtime.
