American Idol, America's Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars… WTF and Who Cares already.
Enough is enough. shows the ones mentioned above where cool 5 years ago, they paved the way for a lot of reality shows. with each year the talent is becoming less and less ... potent???
we need a talent show or a contest show that may be filmed in other medium such as breakthrough writers and artists and genius computer whiz's.
the over night fame for musicians is great and all and i wish success for anyone who deserves it but its unfair for other mediums and industry noobs who have actual talent or just simply, ambition.
I myself consider myself to be an extremely creative writer, im not the best speller but none the less. my love and obsession with video games, fantasy and science fiction have been driving me to write.
I know many people write and there are a lot of really good writers out there and i like to consider myself one of them. i dont simply write what a cool 'idea' for a game could be. I like to get really in depth and fully conceptualize what a game could be and what angles would need to be covered.
from the main plot, to the cities, countries and people would be, to the technologies they would have, what kind of magic there would be (if any) and how realistic could it be and not too over the top.
then i take each character involved and write his entire history to present date, this allows not only the character to fit perfectly into the plot but it also allows the plot and cities to be written around the character.
what kind of game play functions would there be; is it an action rpg, real time or turn based strategy?, and how would it be different from other games like it? sometimes it more safisfied to reinvent the wheel, so to speak.
this is the kind of mind a writer or artist or computer whiz would need to be a breakthough sensation. but even after your manuscript or other medium is completed, your content is still unsolicited. the hugest roadblock of all. WE and i do mean WE, all gamer all fanboys anyone with a dream who is not a singer or dancer or any AMERICA'S GOT TALENT person needs resources like they do.
I hope one day there are opportunities like that available one day. maybe if i myself become successful in whatever it is i do, then maybe i can have the honor of paving the way. or maybe someone reading this will pave the way. maybe we can start a group on FB and with enough supporters we can raise funds for the future gamers.
