Finally a relaxing experience

Finally a relaxing experience

Many of us use games to relax.  We think that putting in a game will make us forget about work, school, or realtionship.  When was the last time you played a game which actually made you feel less stressed.  I don't mean after the expereince, I mean during the actual playing of the game.  Well Journey is that game.

I’m not going to sit here and say what a terrific piece of art Journey is; instead I’m going to write about how it made me feel.  After about twenty minutes of playing I realized I had a smile on my face.  When was the last time you could really smile throughout the playing of a whole game.  It is truly an adult gaming experience which didn’t stress me out.

Now I’m not saying most current gen games are bad because they are stressful.  I just was able to appreciate a developer who felt as though they could deliver a high quality experience without assaulting my senses or making me tense up and sit on the edge of my couch.

Playing Journey was just a peaceful experience which you don’t find in games today.  I mean if you play My Little Pony I can’t imagine it is a stressful experience, but Journey was able to deliver a five star game without putting the players in constant stressful situations.

Had a tough day at work, don’t put in a shooter, put in Journey kick back and relax for a bit.
