The Crazy Things We do for Games

The Crazy Things We do for Games

No, this isn’t a blog post that is going to highlight the news stories about children playing games to death, or about the times Grand Theft Auto gets blamed for murderous actions by kids. I’m talking about the times when a game causes us to have fun in ways unrelated to the game it self.

I just spent the entire night at a friend’s house assing around and playing Halo 3. It was all fun and well, but it felt empty. My favorite Halo buddy wasn’t there. So, when the clock dinged 6:00 am, and some decided it was time for sleep, I and two others set out to drag my friend over.

On the way not only was one of us dressed in a short pink frilly robe, but I was dawning a fedora, a duster coat, and carrying a red walking cane that looks like a dragon.

Imagine our friends surprise when our less then ordinary bunch arrive at his door at 6 in the morning requesting that he comes out to play. Well, he was mad. But, after promising he would have a chance to take out his anger on me in a Halo match he instantly jumped on our band wagon.

After my friend and I spent 15 minuets throwing obscenities at each other over a good old frag fest, which he won by the way, I let him go home. And then, well, I wrote this post. Although this little excursion was rather… uneventful in nature, it was a night (morning) well spent and made my day slightly better.

Now if you wouldn’t mind, please grace me with some of your videogame adventures. They could be from a trip with friends to an arcade to trying to make it to the midnight release of a game. I’d love to hear about it all in the comments.
