The End is Near!

That’s right, folks. The end is almost here. It’s almost 2010. We’ve got little over a month left in 2009 and not many major game releases until January of next year. This, of course, means the breaking out of the Game of the Year lists. Mine is as follows:

Best First Person Shooter: Battlefield 1943 (Xbox 360, PS3)

Best Third Person Shooter: Red Faction: Guerilla (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) 

Best Adventure Game: Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)

Best Strategy Game: Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II (PC)

Best Expansion of a Pre-Existing Game: Grand Theft Auto 4: Episodes From Liberty City (Xbox 360, PS3)

Best Platformer: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)

Best RPG: Borderlands (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)

Best JRPG: Don’t be silly, those don’t exist.

Best Open-World Game: inFAMOUS (PS3)

Best Game I Thought Was Going To Blow, But Didn’t: Left 4 Dead 2

OVERALL BEST GAME OF THE YEAR: Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II
