The Unofficial Biography of Shigeru Miyamoto.

The Unofficial Biography of Shigeru Miyamoto.

This is a story about a young Shigeru Miyamoto. A young man growing up Sonobe Kyoto, Japan who little did he know would grow up to inspire thousands to create new interactive worlds. How did this young man get to this point? Here’s my unofficial biography. Miyamoto is a man of many hobbies and he uses those hobbies to inspire his imagination. Miyamoto’s parents always did find him a bit odd. Always drawing up weird creatures and telling outlandish stories. As he got older his life experiences started to play bigger roles in his stories. Here are just a few.

Miyamoto like most teenagers wanted some extra money to enjoy himself and be able to go out with friends. He ended up getting a job as a plumber’s assistant, Mario Bros. Plumbing service took in the young Miyamoto to assist in the day to day needs. Over time Miyamoto really grew to know the 2 brothers very well. He spent most of his time with the older brother, Mario. Mario was a very cheerful man Miyamoto noticed. Never really let much bring him down, but the few times Miyamoto did see Mr. Mario down was when he discussed his love for the Peach vendor across the way from his home. Mario was pretty shy when it came to the ladies, so he never really learned her name, he just constantly referred to her as peaches. Peaches was Mario’s main topic most of the time as we worked, but Mario did have other things he enjoyed to talk about that brighten up his spirits, for example his pet iguana Yoshi. Yoshi is always with Mario, he normally lets him wonder around the properties as he and young Miyamoto worked. The thing Miyamoto noticed the most about Yoshi was his appetite, sometime it seemed like the only time he wasn’t eating was when he was asleep. Every now and again Miyamoto will work with the other brother, Luigi. Luigi was a tough egg to crack for Miyamoto, he really kept to himself most of the time but Miyamoto did enjoy when we worked with him because of his fear of ghosts. This is even funnier because the two Mario Bros had a very bad habit of eating mushrooms on the job. Mario claims it makes him feel bigger and Luigi just starts seeing ghost, but you should see him react to one of his sightings. He darts away and jumps a lot, which is funny because his legs still move as he’s in the air. Every now and again Mario brings up his father, Dr. Mario and he believes that he father took life too easy working from an office spending most of his time solving puzzles. The one job that stands out the most for Miyamoto was a Mr. B. Koopa a weird fellow that had a obsession with turtles. As a matter of fact the job they were called for was to save one of his precious turtles who feel in the toilet and kept swimming. On the way out after finishing the job Mario noticed a picture on the counter it was of Mr. Koopa and “Peaches”! Mr. Koopa was her father and when Mario asked Mr. Koopa about his daughter Mr. Koopa laughed and said

“I would never let my daughter date a stinky plumber like you!” he then continued to laugh as they left.

Working with the Mario’s was great but it was time to move on.

So one day Miyamoto and a few buddies decided to go to the zoo they were unveiling the new gorilla exhibit. Miyamoto really like animals and had been reading about this family of gorillas being brought over from Africa. In the articles, they said the family of gorilla will be separated once at the zoo because of the differences between daddy gorilla and his son. So the day came and Miyamoto went to see them and it was a day he would remember forever. Once at the exhibit his friend points out something funny. The gorillas are named “Donkey”, and it appears they were captured by an African tribe known as the kung. Due to a error in translation the gorillas were called the Donkey Kongs. The senior Kong wasn’t very friendly he would constantly try to throw the barrels that they fill with bananas at the people walking by. Donkey Kong Jr on the other hand was a lot calmer. He was a fan favorite because he loves this little tie that they put around his neck and he also like to do flips and bang beats on the floor and on the bottom of the barrels. But he wasn’t perfect, he really hated to crocodiles in the pen next to his. He was constantly throwing his banana peels over to their pen. Jr was a weird one, at the end of the day he would go to sleep in the barrels for the bananas, we still do not know how he fits in there.

One day Miyamoto noticed a new family moving in next door. They were a curious family, just a boy and his mother. The boy was very independent, the day after they moved in, he started work on a pretty impressive tree house. He did this all on his own, the family was not Japanese but it was hard to tell what they were. For one we never really heard them speak outside of the house, it was as if they had their own language. Miyamoto had a garden he attended quite often and one of these times he noticed the young man in his backyard playing with a wooden sword and he was pretending to fight imaginary enemies. Something else that he found odd is how different the boy and the mom were, the boy was very in tune with nature spending a lot of time outside, play fighting and collecting honey. The mother on the other hand was always very professional. She worked as a bounty hunter going after criminals who failed to show up in court. She had a very nice car, and all the latest tech. It almost seemed like they were the complete opposite. They were a very private family but Miyamoto felt pretty bad for anyone dumb enough to break into that house. One thing Miyamoto did notice is the tag of the mothers car said SAMU5.

On one of his gardening trips Miyamoto noticed a fox digging up his garden. He ran to stop the fox and yelled as the fox jumped the gate. On the other side Miyamoto noticed was a collection of different animals now scattered all over the neighbors yard with a sign above that read “Link‘s Farm” in this farm there were a rabbit, a toad, the fox, and in a cage hanging off the tree a falcon. There was another new addition, he noticed this because it really stood out. A go-kart was just sitting there, the animals loved it but it never really looked used much. All the animals had cages but were free to run around. Everyone seemed to follow the fox the majority of the time. At night Miyamoto noticed that the animals would stare up at the sky and just stare as if they were missing something up there.

Miyamoto had little time for the small stuff anymore. He was entering a tough year of school and left his imagination behind for a bit. Every night he stared at his notebooks full of stories he created and said to himself one day I will tell the world my amazing stories.
