The Women of Gaming Week started earlier this week at http://patrickscottpatterson.com/ home of Gaming Personality Patrick "Scott" Patterson (who has recently been featuring the newest game trailers like Street Fighter X Tekken and it's opposite on his site) and features Elizabeth "Ebo" Hanning to help kick things into gear. Don't think it will be a bunch of pictures of ladies in cosplay outfits either because it's not. Not that any of them wouldn't look good in a Street Fighter Cammy outfit (although one of these women has worn it) but this is about what they play, do and how they're involved. Let's face it, there's a lot of female gamers out there and I for one am glad to see it. I remember back in high school when I'd bring in the latest issue of E.G.M. and people would glare at me and call me a nerd. When kids bring a copy of the hottest game mag to school now, most everybody wants to check it out or at least has a passing interest. Everybody, male and female, wants to know what the next hot game will be and if it's something they might want to buy.
Today's featured Woman Gamer is G4tv's own Nicole Zivalich! You can catch up on all the featured women by visiting the link in the first sentence. I can say that I've seen a large increase in the numbers when it comes to women playing video games. Games are a lot more inviting than they were twenty years ago. Games on most phones today look and play better than any old Atari 2600 game and they're much more affordable than a new console game. But I'm off topic here. More women play modern games, console or otherwise, than ever before and Patrick "Scott" Patterson brings us the skinny with his weeklong Women of Gaming feature!
