The Apple TV might be the oldest set-top box in a sea of newer, shinier competitors, but at least it keeps getting new programming.
Today, Apple announced that the set-top box would see two new channels for financial news network CNBC and broadcast network Fox’s on-demand offering, Fox Now.
The CNBC channel has a livestream of the cable channel. This is nice for people who no longer get much use out of their traditional pay TV subscription but still want to follow along with financial news throughout the day. The Fox Now channel, on the other hand, only offers relatively recent on-demand content such as 24: Live Another Day, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Glee, and more.
Unfortunately, you’ll need to already be paying for cable or satellite TV and authenticate that subscription before being able to access either channel.
