Acclaimed The Dark Knight Rises composer Hans Zimmer has released a new song dedicated to those involved in the tragic incident in Aurora, Colorado, which he’s made available for sale online.

While the track is available on iTunes for $1.99, using Moontoast’s platform lets people chose how much they want to pay — effectively turning the sale into a donation. Prices range from $0.10 all the way up to $2,500, and all proceeds from the song will go to the Aurora Victim Relief organization.
“I recorded this song in London in the days following the tragedy as a heartfelt tribute to the victims and their families,” Zimmer wrote in his initial Facebook update.

Since its release this morning, both transactions and social media activity for the Aurora song have been strong, according to Moontoast.
Zimmer is no stranger to the digital world. Last week, the composer released an augmented audio iPhone app The Dark Knight Rises Z+ to coincide with the release of the new Batman film. The app essentially provides a Dark Knight soundtrack that changes based on your movements.
