Yes, nearly $30,000 in one day — from a $0.99 fart app.

The following day, December 23, actually saw another 13,000+ downloads (and thus, another nearly $10,000 made), and Christmas Eve saw an incredible 19,520 downloads — netting $13,364 after Apple’s 30 percent cut.
But the real gem is of course Christmas Day. As Comm says in his blog post, “I had a hunch that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day would be higher. How much higher was anyone’s guess. All I knew was that a lot of people would be getting iPhones and iPod Touch MP3 players on Christmas Day.” Indeed.

Not surprisingly, the app remains the number one top app in the App Store [iTunes Link].
But in sharing these numbers, Comm wanted to make it clear that InfoMedia isn’t just about the $0.99 fart apps. “We have been in this game since this beginning and also develop practical, thoughtful apps… Not just juvenile stuff,” Comm told me.
The company also has a social voting app called iVote. As you might expect, it allows users to vote on topics and see the results. There is both a free version and a $1.99 Pro version (without advertisement). But so far it has been a harder sell then iFart Mobile. The app, which has been out since October has been downloaded around 48,000 times so far — again, compare this to iFart Mobile and its nearly 39,000 downloads on Christmas Day alone.
Still, that app has managed to pull in over 5 million votes from those 48,000 users, and Comm says the company is thinking about turning it into a full-fledged social network.
Perhaps he should consider that for iFart Mobile.
