Details on the event are slim so far, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
For one, it’s very likely that Amazon will finally announce its front-lit Kindle eReader, which will compete directly with Barnes & Noble’s Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight.

The main event for the day, however, will likely be a 10-inch Kindle Fire, a device that was rumored even before the original Kindle Fire was released. This larger tablet would be in direct competition with the iPad, which has stood relatively uncontested in the 10-inch tablet space so far.
Amazon is also likely to announce a revamped 7-inch Kindle Fire, which would iron out the hardware kinks found in the first version of the device.
September is shaping up to be a busy time for hardware announcements, with both Nokia and Motorola expected to announce new devices within the first week of the month.
