Just yesterday, as I switched between apps on the iOS 7 home screen, my iPhone 5S randomly rebooted.
Thankfully, Apple is aware of these random home screen crashes and is working on a fix.
“We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash,” Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller told Mashable.
Since Apple released iOS 7 in September, iPhone folk have complained about a bug that causes random reboots, regardless of the phone model. Threads on Apple’s support community are filled with people experiencing home screen crashes, which causes a soft reboot. Some report the glitch occurring more often when their iPhone battery is lower than 30 percent.

The fix may come with the release of iOS 7.1, which the development community is currently testing. But iOS 7.1 isn’t expected until March, according to a report from BGR, so Apple may release a smaller iOS 7.0.5 update in the interim.
