Apple now accepting iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, and watchOS 2 apps for review

Apple said today that developers can start submitting for review apps that exploit the new features in the iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, and watchOS 2 operating systems.

Candidates for the final versions of the operating systems were released on Wednesday. The new iOS 9 and watchOS 2 operating systems will launch to the general public next Wednesday.

Developers can also now release their apps to third-party testers using the TestFlight program, rather than having to rely completely on internal testing.

IOS 9 brings multi-tasking functionality to tablets like the new iPad Pro, along with a redesigned Notes app, support for transit in Maps, all-new News app, and new capabilities in Apple Pay.

OS X El Capitan, which was announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, will bring split-screen functionality and refined search to Apple laptops and desktop computers, among other things. See our hands-on of El Capitan here.

WatchOS 2 will allow the Apple Watch to run apps natively on the device, and connect directly to a Wi-Fi network for added autonomy from the paired phone.
