Google’s Android operating system has already been through the wringer with the Oracle lawsuit, which was ultimately a mixed-bag victory for the Android maker. Apple, however, is going after Google’s many hardware manufacturer partners rather than Google itself, for now at least.

Still, Google has acquired Motorola (and its patents) and has said that move will assist in the defense of other Android-using manufacturers as lawsuits continue to pop up around the globe.
