Apple fans, get excited. You might be getting an iWatch (or whatever it’s called) a month sooner than you expected.
Apple may unveil its much anticipated wearable tech alongside its two new iPhone 6 models at a September 9th event, rather than a month later, as earlier rumors suggested.
The device will be compatible with Apple’s Homekit and Healthkit platforms, suggesting, possibly, that the device will be both a smart home remote control and health tracker, according to Recode.
In the last few months the gossip mill has really ramped up surrounding the release of Apple’s wearable tech, which we assume to be some sort of wrist adornment like a watch or bracelet. In the last few months we’ve watched as Apple has filed patents, first for a weight tracking device and then later for the “iTime,” a wrist computer equipped with GPS and push notifications that can connect to a mobile device and respond to gestures.

Through all this rumor and conjecture there’s still no name for the media-dubbed iWatch. However, Financial Times reporter Tim Bradshaw says “iWatch” isn’t it.
In June, Recode reported that Apple would host an October event to welcome its new wearable tech. Then, earlier this month, Apple watcher John Gruber nonchalantly mentioned that Apple would launch its wearable tech “next month” a couple of weeks ago — perhaps letting those of us on the out in on Apple’s secret.
Whatever the case, there’s been no word on the speculated October event and now all eyes will be on Apple September 9th. We’re expecting Apple to send out invites to that event soon.
