Sources are whispering that Best Buy is set to release its very own Android tablet next month, just in time for holiday shopping.
Reuters reports that anonymous sources close to the project say the tablet, already announced as the Insignia Flex, will appear in stores as soon as Nov. 11 with a price between $239 and $259.
Confirmed specs for the tablet include a 9.7-inch screen, 10 hours of battery life, a dual-core proccessor, a front-facing camera, and a total weight of 1.45 pounds.

All things considered, it’s not the most outlandish news we’ve heard.
As far as the timing is concerned, Google’s been hinting that Android tablets are totally going to be a really big deal for Q4 2012. In a recent missive to developers, it stressed the importance of high quality in tablet apps, saying that the Android tablet market was set to expand significantly come November and app developers needed to be able to cash in on that trend.
And the pricing makes sense, too. Insignia is Best Buy’s house brand, and as such, items in the line are competitively priced. The proposed pricing for the Insignia Flex would put it slightly higher than the $159 and $199 prices for the Kindle Fire and Fire HD, respectively. But it’s significantly less than the rumored $300-plus price for the iPad Mini and roughly equivalent to the Nexus 7’s price.
Between this Insignia Flex model, the Kindle lineup, Google’s own Nexus tablet, and a handful of others, 2013 might be the Year of the Android Tablet at long last.
