BlackBerry’s Priv is coming to Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Vodafone UK

Fans of BlackBerry’s new Android-based Priv smartphone will be happy to know that the device will be supported by more carriers in the United States and United Kingdom. The Canadian phone manufacturer announced that it’s coming to Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Vodafone UK. While Vodafone UK customers can get the Priv starting today, specific dates were not given for the three U.S. carriers.

Available for $699, the BlackBerry Priv is the company’s first smartphone running the Android operating system, but hasn’t done away with features iconic to it, such as its sliding keyboard. It features a 5.4-inch 540ppi display, weighs 6.77 ounces, and contains an 18-megapixel dual-flash camera with 32GB internal storage. While the device supports Android, what’s unclear is which version it’ll be; the company hasn’t committed to when Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be added — it might be later this year.

The device is already available on AT&T, Rogers, Bell, and TELUS, as well as on countless other carriers around the world. BlackBerry also revealed that starting today, the device will be sold in new markets, including Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain, joining Germany and the U.K.
