Check out Panasonic's blowdryer. Seriously, it looks like a laser gun

LAS VEGAS — Finally, something “for the ladies” that isn’t underpowered or [expletive] pink.

Panasonic’s nanoe blowdryer is stone-cold badass.

First, it’s black and red and shaped like an F1 race car. Second, it has a rounded, raised nano-particle emitter that looks (and sounds) like something Marvin the Martian would be proud to brandish.

And third, it’s got interesting and presumably functional technology.

At first, said tech sounds counter-intuitive: the nano emitter thing sprays a breeze of itty, bitty water particles at your hair at the same time the traditional blowdryer parts are removing the water particles from your hair.

What does it all mean?

As the Panasonic rep, who was rocking a truly bangin’ blowout, explained to me, the device doesn’t get your hair wet again. Rather, it replaces the moisture your newly dried hair would have absorbed from the air — the kind of moisture that causes hair to immediately frizz up once you step outside.

The hint of moisture also helps prevent the kind of damage blowdrying naturally inflicts. Think of it like carb-loading before a marathon.

I realize as I’m writing this that it sounds completely vapid. This $180 blowdryer is not world-changing, life-improving tech. But dammit, neither are the countless rows of “boy” gadgets that “boy” reporters will inevitably swoon over.

And with that, I’m off to get a blowout, suckers.
