More than a week after releasing Chrome 46 for desktop, Google has updated Chrome for iOS with two new features: iOS 9 multitasking on iPad and Autofill. You can download the new version now directly from Apple’s App Store.

Split View support means you can now run Chrome beside any other updated iOS app that also has been updated to work with the feature. Related to that, the Picture-in-Picture functionality lets you view videos in a smaller separate window while using a second app. Keep in mind that these features will only work on the Apple tablets, so the iPad Pro (when it’s out), iPad Air 2, and the iPad mini 4.

As Google explains, “Often on the web, we’re doing a ton of things at once — reading up on an exotic travel location, catching up on social media or booking a hotel.” So Chrome for iOS now lets you do that all at once.

At the same time, Chrome for iOS has gained a feature that Chrome for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android has had for ages: Autofill. Now, all versions of Chrome will automatically fill out any form information you’ve entered before.

This will, of course, work for anything, but Google specifically thinks it will “make it easier to make purchases on the go.” Because “we’re shopping more often than ever on our phones and tablets,” the company argues that having to re-enter credit card information every time you buy something is the main pain point that Autofill will solve.

The changelog also mentions “Improved handling of RTL languages.” RTL stands for right-to-left, which is a reference to the direction that some languages are read.

This is a small update, but if you spend a lot of time in Chrome on your iPad or making purchases on the go, you’ll want to grab this latest version.
