LAS VEGAS — Garmin introduced a pair of new smartwatches today, and wearers will be able to use smart calendar functions on the devices thanks to a collaboration with Tempo AI.
Garmin’s new Epix and Fenix 3 fitness and sports-focused smartwatches will be available in Q1 2015, Garmin says.
Tempo has for some time been making smart calendar apps for phones and tablets. Tempo users who purchase a Garmin Epix or Fenix 3 will be able to see their upcoming events and locations at a glance, and send an email from the Garmin watch if they are running late.
The companies say using a Tempo Smart Calendar is like having an assistant (in this case on your wrist) anticipate what you need and surface that information right in the calendar. Tempo eliminates the need to use multiple apps to search through emails, find contact information, notify attendees if you’re running late, or get directions to your next event.
