September is turning into one crazily crowded month for mobile, with Nokia, Motorola, Amazon, and Apple holding launch events. Now we can add HTC to the list, with a likely Windows Phone 8 event planned for Sept. 19.

HTC sent us and others an invite for the event to “see what’s next.” While the invite does not say Windows Phone 8, that’d be our best guess based on the timing.

The only Windows Phone 8 device that’s been officially announced is Samsung’s new ATIV S. Nokia is set to show off two Windows Phone 8 devices tomorrow at an event in New York City.

Even with these events, Windows Phone 8 isn’t expected to debut until Oct. 29. (We’re crossing our fingers for an earlier release.)
