Leaked photo reveals ‘iPhone 5C’ packaging

In what could be the reveal of the name for Apple’s next generation iPhone, French gadget site Nowhereelse.fr has discovered a leaked photo of packaging for what appears to be the iPhone 5C.

The iPhone 5C could theoretically be the name of the plastic molding version of the iPhone that we’ve heard about in previous rumors — most notably in differt colors, such as radioactive vomit green. It would also line up with Apple’s history of releasing interim model iPhone between adding a brand new number, which it did with the iPhone 4S.

It’s hard to say how much legitimacy to give to the photo, considering we haven’t seen any other sites confirm the news outright. As MacRumors notes, Chinese forum site WeiPhone — which is where the photo first popped up — often discusses iPhone rumors, but the site itself rarely reports on them. This happens to be an exception, though.
