Today, LinkedIn is giving its millions of mobile users the ability to apply for jobs from directly within its iOS and Android apps with just a few quick finger-taps.

The company said around one third of all its traffic comes from mobile devices right now, and those users aren’t just browsing through the news.

Last month, LinkedIn started automatically suggesting new jobs to mobile users, and today, company reps say that feature has seen a healthy amount of activity.

With the new feature, you can click an “Apply” button next to any job. Unless the company in question requires applications to take place on their site, you can edit your profile before applying, or, if your profile is already up to date, you can just tap “Next.” On the next screen, LinkedIn will autocomplete your contact information (or you can enter a new email address and/or digits), and you can tap “Submit” to officially apply for the job.

We talk about how LinkedIn has gone from being a sort of fugly, sort of useful tool to being a beautiful, mobile-focused butterfly in a relatively short period of time.

The company launched a suite of all-new mobile apps back in April, as well as a standalone iPhone app for contacts.

Under the hood, the company brought out Unified Search, a recruiter’s power tool, and reworked all the technologies behind its mobile apps as well.
