Microsoft OneNote now supports FiftyThree’s Pencil and Paper on iPad

Microsoft today announced that its OneNote note-taking app for iPad can now work with startup FiftyThree’s iOS-centric Pencil stylus, and documents made with the Paper note-taking app on iOS can now be sent to OneNote. The news is especially interesting because it shows Microsoft more strongly supporting FiftyThree, after Apple announced its own stylus for the iPad.

“You’ll immediately notice the added feedback of the Pencil is great for a variety of inking scenarios, and the ability to easily flip the Pencil and erase in a familiar way, making it a top selling stylus for iPad,” OneNote Ink product manager Ian Mikutel wrote on the Office blog.

To share a file from Paper to OneNote, you simply hit Share in the grid or the single idea view and select “Share as Images” or “Share To.” Then hit “Save to OneNote.”

“Exported ideas will be synced to all of your devices using OneNote,” FiftyThree wrote in its own blog post on the news.
