Microsoft has been listening to feedback from people using its newly released Sway app for easily crafting presentations of text, images, and videos. Based on that feedback, Microsoft today announced some useful new capabilities inside the Sway app for iPhone.
In version 1.2 of the app, it’s possible to include videos from the iPhone’s camera roll, arrange text with bullets and numbering, add a link to text, emphasize words and sentences, make “stacks” of photos, and even crop images, Microsoft’s Sway team announced in a blog post.

The app can automatically do that, thanks to Microsoft’s Office Lens technology.
The Sway iPhone app first became available in the U.S. last month.

Microsoft is moving fast with Sway. It’s the latest app to join in Microsoft’s widely used Office suite of software. So it’s not surprising to see Sway coming out with updates to the app on mobile devices, as well as on desktop. (The desktop version of Sway also got some updates today, incidentally; updates include a larger + button and font customization options, according to a blog post.)
In addition to introducing new features to the Sway app for iPhone, Microsoft’s Sway team also said today it’s improved the performance of the app “especially when network quality is poor.”
The iPhone app for Sway, by the way, is now available in a wide range of countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Canada, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Federated States of Micronesia, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Swaziland, United Republic of Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Kingdom, the U.S., and the British Virgin Islands.
