Netflix has apparently started rolling out a new interface on Apple TV for users that are currently testing shared Netflix accounts, according to a MacRumors report today.
Apple TV is usually the slow poke among set-top boxes when it comes to getting features, apps, or updates. So the fact that Netflix is making this available on Apple TV is pretty nice but not entirely surprising. Apple has sold over 13 million Apple TVs in the last year alone, and the ability to use the native Netflix Apple TV app is undoubtedly a big part of that.

The shared accounts are nice because they eliminate much of the pain that comes with having more than one person using the same Netflix account across many devices. Right now, if multiple people use the same Netflix account, it messes up the accounts recommendation engine — effectively rendering it useless. It also makes it difficult to keep up with what’s saved in everyone’s queue.

The new shared-account interface via Apple TV allows Netflix users to choose between different profiles, as shown in the screenshot above. You can make changes to individual accounts or create new ones, but you probably don’t want to be doing that on the television anyway, since it’s cumbersome. The company has previously said access to shared user accounts will be available to all subscribers later this year.
