Microsoft’s OneNote notetaking app for Mac just got an upgrade.

Now you can draw in the app using the inking capability that’s been a part of OneNote for Windows, iPad, and Android.

“Now you can write, draw and highlight with tools on the new Draw tab using your mouse or trackpad,” Microsoft OneNote product marketing manager Scott Shapiro wrote today in a blog post. “You can also use your third-party drawing tablet or display that uses a pen or stylus to write, draw and erase — just like pen and paper. And we’ve added lined pages and grids as a background option to help keep your new handwriting and drawings neat and tidy.”

OneNote has become more appealing to some people now that competitor Evernote has limited syncing to just two devices for each user. Inking on desktop for people with Macs could drive more adoption, particularly among artistic types.

In addition to enhancing OneNote for Mac, Microsoft has also bolstered the app’s Web Clipper. Now you can drop in videos from YouTube and Vimeo using the browser extension. With today’s update you can also adjust the title of a page, change the font size and type, highlight text, clip multiple sections of a page, and even preview what will appear in OneNote, Shapiro wrote.

Finally, if you’re using OneNote in Windows 10 and you’re an Office 365 subscriber, you’ll be getting access to new ink effects. “Now you can jazz up your notes and drawings with new ink effects like rainbow, galaxy, gold and silver to make anything you write more unique and even more fun,” Shapiro wrote.
