HTC One

It’s time to celebrate Verizon Wireless customers — soon you’ll be able to get your hands on the best smartphone on the market.

Verizon confirmed that it will offer the HTC One later this summer in a tweet this afternoon. There aren’t any other details yet, but it’s nice to see some confirmation after months of speculation.

Verizon took its sweet time announcing that it would carry the phone — it’s already available on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile’s networks, and it was announced way back in February. The One shares a few design elements with the slightly larger Droid DNA, an HTC-built phone that Verizon launched last fall, so perhaps the carrier just wanted to give its older model a bit more time on the shelf.

The HTC One wowed me consistently in my review. Its metal design is sleek-yet-strong, it has a bunch of useful features (like stereo speakers and a great low-light camera), and it’s incredibly fast. Most importantly, it was good enough to make me give up on the iPhone 5. That’s saying a lot.
