3D printing has created a lot of awesome items in its short history, and soon enough it could revolutionize traditional games and puzzles.

Dane Christianson, an enterprising creator at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Idea Shop, used a 3D printer to create what he calls the “X-Cube,” a 3-by-3-by-3 Rubik’s cube and what is arguably the hardest Rubik’s cube ever.

While other complicated Rubik’s cube blocks exist, such as the insane 6-by-6 cube, the X-Cube seems especially hard because you can “scramble” the pieces so they protrude in all kinds of crazy ways.
