Bitmob/1UP Field Week

Day one of The Bitmob/1UP Field Week was a rousing success — let's make day two the same. In case you've missed out on the events until this point, it's easy to join in. Field Week is a series of daily posts created by our community and designed for everyone to participate. Stay tuned to these posts every afternoon.

You can participate in all sorts of events, and some of them even have prizes to hand out. Bitmob members have a whole new set of activities for you today, so get cracking. Don't forget all he Field Week posts from yesterday.

Here's today's rundown:

Bitmobbers on Twitter Day 2

You might have missed out, but that doesn't mean you're too late to get tweeting and possibly win some prizes. Join in the discussion that Lance Darnell has prompted, but be sure to follow his easy rules. Yesterday he had everyone making up ill-advised spin-offs to video game classics, and today he has you inventing more games.

Halo Reach Screenshot Contest

A.J. Minotti wanted to make sure we all got together for some actual gaming this week, so he's going to host a night with the multiplayer beta for one of this year's most anticipated titles, Halo: Reach. Post your screenshots so everyone who missed out can be jealous.

Puzzler: Incoming

The Will Shortz of Bitmob, Jay Henningsen has got something cooked up for today that should impress. Keep an eye out for when he posts it, as I hear it might even include a prize!

Write Your Own Adventure

Mark T. Whitney has put together an interesting challenge for Field Week. He's set up the introduction to your adventure and your limitations for finishing. You just have to tell us how the story ends. He'll be collecting all of the contributions on Friday.

Morning Cup of Mob

Chris "Cosmo" Ross is back at it today. He's written another short blurb with his thoughts on some aspect of video games. Your job? Get the discussion started, keeping in mind his special little requirement of your response. If you manage to respond insightfully while following his rules, points to you.

Over at 1UP

Be sure to visit 1UP and find out what's going on over there. Today, Cody Winn has organized an art and music challenge and some writing exercises. Only half of Field Week is on Bitmob, so don't miss out the fun or any possible prizes involved.

I also want to remind you to whip up an entry for Chase Koeneke's WarioWare D.I.Y. challenge. He hasn't seen many responses, and there's a prize up for grabs.

And don't forget

Our community has cooked up even more activities that are running concurrently to Field Week:

Trevor Hinkle's Year in Review callout.

Michael Rousseau's Fog of War writing prompt.

Community manager Andrew Hiscock's walkthrough callout.

Omar Yusuf's Gamer Tourism community homework assignment.

They're ongoing throughout the week, but participate before time runs out!
